Basic Manners II (Canine Good Citizen)
This five week class covers the 10 different steps that are a part of the CGC test. All dogs who pass this CGC test at the end of the course receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club (AKC). The ten steps are:

• Accepting a friendly stranger
• Sitting politely for petting
• Appearance and grooming
• Out for a walk (walk on a loose lead)
• Walking through a crowd
• Sit and down on command - staying in place
• Coming when called
• Reaction to another dog
• Reaction to distraction
• Supervised separation

This class is available to all dogs four months of age or older who have taken the Basic Manners course or have the equivalent skills already and are current on vaccinations.

The cost of this class is $85. Owners who have adopted a dog from a rescue organization or humane society or SPCA within the last 90 days are eligible for a $20 discount. To receive the CGC certificate from the AKC, they do charge a small handling fee.
